Mom recently revealed that Dad shared the Gospel with Russians when he was at work out on the oil platform. He spoke Russian to them! As far as we knew, he only spoke English at home. Continue reading
My expectations for 2019 didn’t pan out. Oh, for sure it was a good year as far as the usual subjects of weather, health, relationships, and personal growth …
But the most important event I was looking for did not happen. Jesus did not come.
Most of you all are busy enjoying New Year activities today and I get that. So I decided to keep this as brief as possible. Mom and I are relaxing too. We were up late watching fireworks displays on TV from around the world last night. It was very entertaining and downright spectacular.
Then quite unexpectedly Mom said, “Wouldn’t it be great if the world celebrated the birth of Jesus at Christmas with as much enthusiasm?”
My heart just skipped a beat and those familiar Holy Spirit tinglings shot through me.
“Yes, Mom,” to her spontaneous remark.
We sort of lost interest in the TV soon after that and called it a night.
So here is my expectation – my hope – for 2020:
Share your expectations for 2020 in the comments. I would love to read them!

Recently I awoke to these words ringing in my right ear,
“The Call of Jesus Christ is the most powerful!”
Oh my goodness; I sat straight up in bed! Continue reading
46Mary responded,
“Oh, how my soul praises the
Lord.
47 How my spirit rejoices in
God my Savior!
48 For he took notice of his lowly
servant girl,
and from now on all
generations will call me
blessed.
49 For the Mighty One is holy,
and he has done great things
for me.
50 He shows mercy from
generation to generation
to all who fear him.
51 His mighty arm has done
tremendous things!
He has scattered the proud
and haughty ones.
52 He has brought down princes
from their thrones
and exalted the humble.
53 He has filled the hungry with
good things
and sent the rich away with
empty hands.
54 He has helped his servant Israel
and remembered to be
merciful.
55 For he made his promise to
our ancestors,
to Abraham and his children
forever.”
56Mary stayed with Elizabeth
about three months and then
went back to her own home.
As soon as this dream starts I realize that I have dreamed this same dream before. I think the Lord is persistent. Continue reading
How can one person see the bigger picture while another is oblivious to the obvious? At a time when there was a plot to kill Jesus, a woman close to Yeshua sensed trouble and took action. Realizing that she could do nothing to prevent Yeshua’s death, she did what she could a couple of days prior to Passover:
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He (Jesus) sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask, and poured it on His head. ~ Mark 14:3 NKJV
The diners were shocked and criticized the woman, accusing her of wasting a commodity that was worth a year’s wages. At the very least, they indicated it should have been sold and given to the poor.
But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me. For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always. She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial. Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.” ~ Mark 14:6-9 NKJV (Emphasis added)
Satan is not “oblivious to the obvious”. He immediately jumped on the opportunity of Judas’s dismay over the woman’s “waste”. We know from that point on how the story takes its twisted path to Calvary’s cross.
10Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Him to them. 11And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. So he sought how he might conveniently betray Him. ~ Mark 14:10-11 NKJV
But what just happened at dinner? While Judas Iscariot was busy plotting the betrayal of the Messiah and the other disciples were enjoying a meal with Jesus, a woman follower sees the bigger picture and brought a most treasured possession to dinner. She anointed Yeshua’s body right then and there, in case it would prove to be impossible later; believing that Jesus is the Lamb of God, soon to be sacrificed for our sins; Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
She did what she could – and today,

But Jesus sent him home, saying, 39”…Go back to your family, and tell them everything God has done for you.” So he went all through the town proclaiming the great things Jesus had done for him. ~ Luke 8:38b-39 NLT
It may seem like an odd title for the meeting between The Apostle Paul and the Jewish leadership at Rome. However, we find that by the end of the day (and the Bible says “from morning till evening”) Paul testifies with all of the love in his heart that Jesus is the One who fulfills both the Law of Moses and the Prophets. In other words, Jesus is indeed the long-awaited Messiah!
Yet some believe and some doubt. As they prepare to leave his house, Paul delivers a tender message straight from the Holy Spirit through the prophet Isaiah:
26saying,
‘Go to this people and say:
“Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand;
And seeing you will see, and not perceive;
27For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.’ ~Acts 28:26-27 NKJV
Notice that not Paul, but The Holy Spirit, mentions that the people’s hearts have turned away from God. Praise God that some of the Jews receive Jesus that day; while the remainder depart to argue the matter.
28”Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!” 29And when he had said these words, the Jews departed and had a great dispute among themselves. ~ Acts 28:28-29 NKJV
Paul continues to preach about the Lord Jesus Christ from his own rental house for two more years. No one forbids Paul, and we have no idea how many lives are brought into God’s kingdom through Paul at Rome. Whatever the number, PRAISE THE LORD! – for each and every heart that softens, brightens, and turns to Jesus.
Long, Long ago the Lord said His love is everlasting, unfailing, and His heart is drawn toward His people. God’s Valentine’s Day message to you is Turn, TURN your heart to Jesus. Repent and receive salvation today.
Firstly, God bless you for reading and following Jesus!
Secondly, thank you for following

²²But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, ²³GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL. Against such there is no law. . . 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.~Galatians 5:22,23,25 NKJV
7Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap . . . 8bbut he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. . . . 16And as many as walk according to this rule, PEACE and MERCY be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.~Galatians 6:7,8b,9,16 NKJV (emphasis added)
Brethren, keep God’s law – love one another. Share each others’ burdens. Keep sowing to the Spirit and reap everlasting life. Don’t lose heart!
