Romans 5:6-11:  God’s promises took effect the moment I took that step of faith and accepted Jesus as the one true Son of God, the promised Messiah – and became His follower.  In that moment, in God’s perfect timing, He saved me from God’s wrath to come.

Romans 6:14:  No longer am I a slave to sin or its deadly consequences.  This does not mean that I no longer sin, but now those chains are broken.  His Holy Spirit now lives in me so I have a helper against the evil one who tempts, and against my own evil sinful nature.  I also have forgiveness for my sins by confessing them to God, and asking for His grace to cover them by the shed blood of Jesus.  I am no longer condemned by the law, but am sanctified in God’s sight by His grace.

Hebrews 13:5:  Jesus is my traveling companion and intimate friend.  He never forsakes me.  I am never alone, for He lives within me.  I can be content with what I have and not be preoccupied with material worries.
