God has provided redemption for every person on earth to escape eternal damnation for sin through belief in His Son, Jesus Christ.  God’s Salvation Plan is a free gift to all who repent of sin and ask God’s forgiveness by faith in Jesus.  Why do we need Jesus?

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ~ John 14:6 NIV

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” ~ Romans 3:23 NIV

The subject of sin is nearly a taboo subject in our world today.  Perhaps because there is so much of it around, that most people don’t even recognize its existence.  I heard Greg Laurie on the radio a few days ago say that we are not sinners because we sin.  We sin because we are sinners.  It is the human condition.  We are born into it since the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.

Without the shed blood of Jesus at the crucifixion cross to cover our sins, we are forever separated from God.  We may never have a relationship with Him; we are eternally banned from heaven, and our names will not be found in His book of life.  All who do not confess Jesus as Lord on this earth will be condemned to the lake of fire for eternity at the Day of Judgement:

“Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” ~Revelation 20:15 NIV

I encourage you to take care of spiritual business right now if you have never accepted Jesus as your personal savior.  There are no second chances in the after life, according to God’s Holy Word.  It is not a complicated process.  God made sure that even a child can take this important step. Pray a simple prayer to Jesus thanking Him for dying on the cross for you.  Ask His forgiveness for your sins and commit to following Him as you make Him Lord of your life.  Jesus promises to redeem all who follow Him:

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.  I and my Father are one.” ~John 10:28-29 NIV
