Did you know that God’s Valentine was sent to every person in a written record called The Holy Bible? It explains His love to us, which surpasses all understanding.
Our Heavenly Father invented love. He gave up His Son, Jesus, to the angry mob to be crucified for our sake. That is ultimate love:
9 … the love of God was manifested towards us, that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10…not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ~ 1John 4:9-11
For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, love, and of a sound mind. ~ 2Timothy 1:7
See, God links the word love with words like power and sanity. God loves powerfully and with His whole heart. God’s Spirit resides in a true believer’s heart. That is what His valentine is all about. His message of the Bible says He adores the recipient and a that relationship with Him brings peace of mind. That is enduring love. It is a gift from God and does not have an expiration date. It is timeless, just like Him. It looks like this:
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. ~ 1Corinthians 13:4-8a
He offers us His eternal love. But how do we love Him in return?
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. ~ Deut. 6:5
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. ~ Ephesians 5:1-2
God also says that the entire law is fulfilled as we love our neighbors as ourselves (Galatians 5:14). If we follow Christ, we are to walk in His love and in the Holy Spirit. And here is the reward:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. ~ Galatians 5:22-23
8 … he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. ~ Galatians 6:8
God understands your heart. Have you read God’s Valentine to you? God wants to hear from you about accepting His free gift of salvation through Jesus our Messiah if you have not already done so. If you are a believer, I would call that your valentine back to Him. So Happy Valentine’s Day! Rejoice in the Lord, for He is good!
