Today’s Nugget | Preach the Word!

Hold fast to be a strong witness for the Lord in season and out of season; whether it’s popular or not; Ask God to provide opportunities to share Jesus. He will bless your heart for His work.

Faith without works is dead. ~ James 2:17

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure affliction, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

2 Timothy 4:1-5

Photos of the Month | January 2021

Okay! Our town looks far different in the winter than in the summertime when visitors grace the peninsula (mostly to fish the salmon season). Realizing that I haven’t tried out the gallery feature of this new block editor yet, it seems a great time to check out Old Town Kenai for distinguished Historic Landmarks.

Right in the center of town – Old Town Kenai, that is – we find (1894) Holy Assumption Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, and across the street proudly sits

complete with recently restored roof

May our Heavenly Father bless and keep you safe this January. Pray always for His guidance over those in authority over us, and thank you for visiting Importantstuff.Live!

Freedom of Choice

With all that is changing in our nation it’s important to realize that God’s plan has always been for humans to have freedom of choice whether to follow Him or not. No matter what happens in the world, we may choose whether to stand on our faith in Jesus to get through.

I’m okay with that. His way is the only way that works in every circumstance. He does not extend freedom to choose and then take that freedom away. His will is the one constant in the universe. Just as Jesus freely chose to suffer and die on a cross in order to pay our sin debt, we may accept His gift of eternal life or not. PRAISE GOD! WHAT A SAVIOR!! He never asks us to live by a different set of rules than He does.

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” ~ John 10:17-18

So Jesus redeems us by choice – not because He has to. It is an act of love. I encourage you to exercise your God-given freedom of choice and believe in Jesus today. Step into the Light of the World and be changed forever.

God bless you all, and thank you for following Importantstuff.Live!
