I am no prophetess;  no visions, and my dreams are pretty ordinary.  I did, however, experience an odd dream after the last post.  I have been pondering the meaning of the dream ever since:

I was outdoors.  It grew dark, and I felt a slight breeze.  It grew stronger and became a great west wind.  An object blew past me and then another … and another.  I peered into the gloom and realized that birds were hurtling past – all different kinds of birds.  They were not flying, but were tucked into feathered balls.  They were not dead, but helpless.  They could not spread their wings to escape the wind, but could only be swept and buffeted about.  Had they tried to escape the power of the gale, it would have torn their wings right off.  An owl soared past my face.  He looked straight into my eyes as he went.

This was getting creepy, so I forced myself awake.  I don’t know about you – but when dreams turn scary?  I’m done.

But what is the interpretation?  I prayed and searched God’s Word.  I kept ending up in Bible scriptures about the wicked being swept away by the wind like chaff or apostates being destroyed.  Many verses held that all nations will know that God is real and all-powerful.  I searched the Biblical Dream Dictionary online.

Here is the research results.  It may be true, or it may not:

• Darkness = death, calamity, or deep mystery
• A wind = spirit. It can be positive, as the Holy Spirit or it can be negative, as adversity.  Since it was in darkness, I would go with adversity.
• A west wind = “end” as in the end of days
• Birds = good or evil spirits.  Again, the gloominess of the dream makes me think evil spirits.  They were not dead, but helplessly driven by the powerful wind.  There was no escape.  They were doomed.  Owls symbolize wisdom.  Owls are predatory birds that may also deliver ominous messages.
• Left = spiritual message.  In my dream the wind was driving the birds from left to right.  Left is a symbol for man’s weakness.  Often it is a picture of God’s power or ability against man’s weakness.

The best I can offer is that the dream is for the end times and time has run out.  The end is eminent.  Whether it refers to our nation or globally, the dream felt like an ominous warning to those who will hear and be wise.  Nations, be ready for dark days ahead.  God is about to clean house of the principalities, powers, and rulers of this dark age.  The wicked spirits in the heavenly places, apostates, scoffers, and mockers of God will be helpless before God’s power.  They will be swept away like chaff in a strong wind.  They will be sent into outer darkness, and apostate wisdom will not rescue any from destruction.  Man’s inability to govern himself or to manage the planet is about to be rectified by the awesome power of God.  He will cleanse the earth and set all things right.
